The world’s largest search engine, Google, has recently announced the launch of a new initiative, Google Developers Launchpad Studio, a full-service studio that provides tailored technical and product support to Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) startups, all in one place.

Startups can register for the Launchpad Studio from July 25 to August 31.

The mission of Google Developers Launchpad is to enable startups from around the world, including in Vietnam, to build great companies. In the last four years, the company has learned a lot while supporting early and late-stage founders.

This technology has been applied in a number of Google applications, including Google Translate and Google Assistant, which are popular among Vietnamese users. AI & ML is also applied in other applications to support startups.

Under the framework of the Google Launchpad Accelerator Program this year, Vietnamese startup eDoctor, a mobile app that connects users with medical professionals, was selected in May to receive free mentorship and monetary support from Google.

Under the program, eDoctor received a package worth $50,000 backed by Google. The startup has the opportunity to work closely with Google for six months and then participate in all-expenses-paid training for two weeks at Google’s headquarters in the US, with access to Google engineers, resources, and mentors. It is the only Vietnamese startup to be chosen this year.

In mid-March, Google kicked off the Google Launchpad Accelerator Program, an intensive program including workshops on Google tools and platforms, to share experiences from two Vietnamese startups who had completed a two-week boot camp at Google’s dedicated Launchpad Space in Silicon Valley.

From working with dynamic startups such as teams applying AI technology to solving transportation problems in Israel, improving tele-medicine in Brazil, and optimizing online retail in India, Google learned that these startups require specialized services to help them scale up.

“Innovation is open to everyone, worldwide,” said Mr. Yossi Matias, Vice President of Engineering at Google. “With this global program, we now have an important opportunity to support entrepreneurs everywhere in the world who are aiming to use AI to solve the biggest challenges.”

The global headquarters of Launchpad Studio will be based in San Francisco, at Launchpad Space, with events and activities taking place in Tel Aviv and New York. Google plans to expand its activities and events to Toronto, London, Bangalore, and Singapore shortly.

As a member of the Studio program, startups can find services tailored to their startups’ unique needs and challenges, such as applied AI integration toolkits, product validation support, access to AI experts, and access to AI practitioners and investors.
