FPT’s Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Executive Vice President of the FPT Corporation and CEO of FPT Information System (FPT IS), as the new CEO of the FPT Corporation, succeeding Mr. Bui Quang Ngoc after his term ends on March 29.

During the last two CEO terms (2013-2018), Mr. Ngoc maintained double-digit growth at the corporation. Technological innovation was also pushed forward, critical infrastructure was invested in throughout Vietnam, and talent were developed and mentored in various ways. He also spent a lot of time developing a network of young leaders to enhance management capabilities through experience in various industries and departments.

He will continue in the role of Vice Chairman of FPT’s Board of Directors, working on the corporation’s critical projects.

Mr. Khoa is a young leader who has been with FPT for 22 years and has proven himself capable of assuming all responsibilities. He has excelled in various leadership roles that require a tremendous understanding of the business operations and technology in both B2B and B2C customers.

“The Board regards Mr. Khoa highly for his ability to organize, lead, inspire, motivate, and encourage people towards common goals,” said Chairman Mr. Truong Gia Binh.

“He has constantly demonstrated passion and determination to complete the mission. We believe with a love for FPT and his youthfulness, Mr. Khoa and FPT’s senior leaders will take the corporation to new heights.”

In 2012, at the age of 35, Mr. Khoa was the youngest boss of an FPT subsidiary when he was appointed General Director of FPT Telecom. Focusing on building core management staff and applying new policies and decisions, he steered FPT Telecom in maintaining its position in the top 3 leading internet service companies in Vietnam while working continuously with new products, services, and management methods. He recorded important achievements within its core business areas.

He played a strong role in setting the foundations for the strong development of FPT Television when deciding to choose IPTV (Internet TV) instead of Cable TV.

Under his leadership, from 2012 to 2017, FPT Telecom’s revenue increased 2.6-fold, profit increased 1.6-fold, staff numbers nearly doubled, and it made the greatest contribution to the corporation’s profits in 2012-2016. FPT Telecom now owns telecommunications, internet, and TV operations in all of Vietnam’s 63 cities and provinces.

In March 2018 Mr. Khoa was rotated as Executive Vice President of FPT, General Director of FPT IS in the planning and training program for the next generation of the corporation’s leaders. After just one year, he has won the trust and encouragement of the Board of Management as well as FPT IS’s staff. He also inspired a spirit of innovation among employees at all levels.

“I have been with FPT for 22 years and am very lucky to inherit the spirit and the ‘FPT - Building to Last’ ambition from all of my predecessors,” he said. “One of the most important functions of a leader is to inspire, to motivate different levels of staff for sustainable growth. With a motto of ‘taking people as the foundation for success’, I believe that together with my associates we will be successful in delivering the key strategic initiatives of the FPT Corporation. The opportunities in digital transformation during Industry 4.0 are being seen and together we will transform FPT into a critical pillar in Vietnam.”

Mr. Do Cao Bao, meanwhile, will end his term as Deputy CEO of the FPT Corporation on March 15. He will continue as a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Personnel & Remuneration Committee, which is part of the Board.
