FastGo, a ride-hailing app similar to Grab and Uber, was officially launched in Hanoi on June 12 by NextTech after three years of development.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuat, CEO of FastGo Vietnam, said the app has been developed by Vietnamese with Vietnamese people in mind.

“We believe that with a clear development process, a superior technology platform, and support from Vietnamese authorities, FastGo will grow steadily and benefit both passengers and Vietnam’s development,” he said.

It’s the first such app to also protect customers on each trip, via Fast Protection insurance from PTI Insurance, with coverage of up to VND200 million ($8,760) for each passenger.

Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thai, Deputy General Director of PTI Insurance, said the claims process for customers of FastGo are relatively straightforward and fast.

FastGo does not charge a percentage fee on drivers but instead charges a maximum of VND30,000 ($1.30) for each day on the road. It also offers drivers assistance and support that enable them to experience a professional, friendly and secure working environment.

At the launch ceremony, FastGo’s strategic partners - MasterCard, PTI Insurance, and Open99 Taxi - signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperating to provide comprehensive services to customers and other partners of FastGo.

FastGo currently provides three core services: Fast Car - a service for individual drivers wishing to increase their income, Fast Taxi - a service linked to taxi companies, and Fast Luxury - offering trips in luxury vehicles.

FastGo will expand to Ho Chi Minh City in July, Da Nang in August, and other major cities over the remainder of the year. The app is available at the App Store and the Google Store.
