VPBank and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) are together organizing Enterprise Connecting Day on July 8 in Hanoi and on July 15 in Ho Chi Minh City, which aim to support and present opportunities to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

There are 250 already enterprises registered to attend in Hanoi, 25 per cent more than expected, while the number in Ho Chi Minh City is 200 and rising.

With about 400 visitors invited, this will be the year’s largest event for SMEs in the north and south of the country from different sectors such as transportation, warehousing, trade, light industry, consumer goods, agriculture, forestry, aquatic products, information technology, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, and training services. Enterprises will have the opportunity to meet and connect with potential partners and there will be an exhibition space for the first 54 SMEs to register.

Experts from VCCI will update participants about the new policies for SMEs approved by the National Assembly on June 12. Specialists from different sectors will hold discussions with enterprises, with Google’s senior partner in Vietnam, Clever Ads, for example, imparting basic knowledge on advertising by small businesses, which many have trouble affording at the outset.

Organizers will also sponsor an advertising fund of VND500 million ($22,000) for 42 SMEs attending the event, including 40 of VND10 million ($440) each and two of VND50 million ($2,200) each.

Enterprises attending in the event can also access a collateral-free of up to VND5 billion ($222,000) from VPBank’s finance support program, This is regarded as the key to unlocking the tight capital door, helping SMEs access capital more easily with multiple favorable conditions such as no collateral requirements, no minimum revenue, no requirement on the number of years of establishment, and simple documentation on the intended use of the capital.

A lucky draw will be also held, with valuable gifts such as office equipment worth VND15 million ($660) and loan packages with a zero per cent interest rate in the first year.

The event will take place on July 8 at the Pullman Hotel, 40 Cat Linh, Dong Da district in Hanoi, and on July 15 at the GEM Center, 8 Nguyen Binh Khiem, District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Enterprises can still register to participate, at http://tiepsuoianhnghiep.vpbank.com.vn.
