Construction of FLC University in northern Quang Ninh province will begin on August 25, after approval from the government on June 3.

Located in the center of Ha Long city, the university covers an area of 50 ha with total investment of nearly VND4 trillion ($171.6 million), and is to become a multi-disciplinary university associated with the development of the first “comprehensive training” model in Quang Ninh.

The university expects to enroll its first students at the end of 2020, with an initial 600 students, increasing to 6,100 by 2024 and 10,000 by 2035.

It aims to achieve QS rating and accreditation from the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and an AACSB ranking for business administration programs in the shortest time possible, to help students study in a world-class educational environment right in Ha Long without having to go abroad.

In terms of facilities, FLC University is fully invested to serve modern training programs and was advised by a prestigious design team in Australia. Outstanding facilities include a large lecture area with flexibly design classrooms, library built as a three-level learning center, an integrated e-learning system, an electronic library, and administrative building with a museum, a working area for the Board of Management, and a dormitory and cafeteria catering to up to 1,000 students.

Representatives from FLC said the investment in FLC University is to build a superior university and graduate education institution in method and curriculum, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for Vietnam in particular and for the development of key economic sectors in general.

In July, Bamboo Airways, a subsidiary of the FLC Group, officially began construction of the Bamboo Airways Aviation Training Institute in south-central Binh Dinh province. The project covers an area of 10 ha with total investment of VND700 billion ($30 million) in the establishment and development phase. After going into operation in the first quarter of 2022, the Institute will train nearly 3,500 students each year in pilot, flight attendant, aviation technology, ground operations, and basic training programs.

The Institute will also cooperate with the FLC University to undertake specialized training such as transport management, international aviation operations, airport and flight operations management, marketing management, and air advertising.
