Cho Tot has recently announced its business performance for 2017 on the occasion of its fifth anniversary in Vietnam. After launching its used car platform in early 2017, Cho Tot Xe now has more than 260,000 users per day.

“2017 saw positive growth at Cho Tot, with an 11 per cent increase in the number of ads listed and a 34 per cent increase in successful transactions on the site compared to 2016,” said Mr. Bryan Teo, CEO of Cho Tot.

Real estate and electronics were also two prominent categories on Cho Tot, with ads contributing 28 per cent and 36 per cent, respectively, to the total. “Besides online classifieds and vehicles, therefore, Cho Tot will focus on investing in these two categories,” Mr. Teo added.

Launched in 2012, Cho Tot is now the leading online classifieds marketplace in Vietnam, with over 1.3 million visitors per day, 1.2 billion page views a month, and 3.3 million successful transactions the via site in 2017 according to its surveys.

“We congratulate Cho Tot on its five successful years and look forward to more in 2018,” said Mr. Johan Rostoft, 701Search’s Managing Director and Vice President of Online Classifieds at Telenor Group, an investor in Cho Tot. “Going forward, we will work to leverage learning and insights from our other online classified companies in Southeast Asia to further strengthen and develop the Cho Tot brand. The Telenor Group is all about connecting our customers to what matters most and Cho Tot is an increasingly important part of this story.”

Cho Tot will officially announce a logo change this year in order to boost sub-brands such as Cho Tot Xe (for motor vehicles) and Cho Tot Nha (for housing), while becoming more dynamic and youthful, expanding to reach out to a younger target audience.

Norway’s Telenor Telecommunication Group, one of the largest telecommunications corporations in the world, operating in 13 countries, bought Cho Tot mid last year. Cho Tot is the leading online classified marketplace in Vietnam, listing products such as electronics, home appliances, fashion, mother and baby goods, vehicles, and real estate.
