The Big C supermarket network of Central Retail Vietnam signed an MoU with five companies and cooperatives in northern Hoa Binh province at the opening ceremony of the “Week of Safe and Quality Citrus Fruit and Agricultural - Fisheries Products of Hoa Binh Province in 2019” (Hoa Binh Week), being held from November 14 to November 18.

The MoU aims to promote the consumption of agricultural products from Hoa Binh province at Big C supermarkets.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai told the ceremony that the event is a continuation of a series of activities to connect the consumption of safe specialty products initiated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) since 2018, creating opportunities for Hoa Binh province to continue introducing attractive new and safe products. “It also helps bring products into the distribution network of Central Retail Vietnam and its 37 supermarkets nationwide and its retail network abroad,” he said.

Mr. Bui Van Khanh, Deputy Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Hoa Binh Provincial People’s Committee, said that in recent years, the production and consumption of agricultural products in Hoa Binh province has posted positive results and some key products associated with the province’s potential and strengths have gradually asserted quality and position in the market. “Hoa Binh Week 2019 is an opportunity for Hoa Binh’s agricultural production enterprises to meet and discuss with businesses in Hanoi and neighboring provinces to introduce and promote their safe, quality agricultural products,” he added. “It also facilitates units and farmers in Hoa Binh province to connect with supermarkets, shopping centers, and domestic and foreign enterprises.”

Ms. Jariya Chirathivat from Central Retail Vietnam said that Hoa Binh province has many famous agricultural products. “I appreciate the promotion of agricultural products and one commune one product (OCOP) products from Hoa Binh province,” she said. “These activities reaffirm our commitment to supporting Vietnamese products in general and those from Hoa Binh province in particular.”

Hoa Binh Week has attracted the participation of 18 enterprises and cooperatives in Hoa Binh province with 22 booths displaying and introducing quality specialties with full traceability stamps. In addition to Big C Thang Long, many specialties of Hoa Binh province will also be introduced and promoted simultaneously at the system of 17 Big C and GO! supermarkets in the northern region.
