Throughout its development journey, Aviva Vietnam has always put corporate social responsibility (CSR) at the center of its sustainable development strategy. With the mission to “Defy Uncertainty” for customers and the community, in addition to its business goals Aviva has been constantly striving to contribute to society in order to create an ideal environment for its current and future customers.

After being officially launched in Vietnam in August 2017, Aviva Vietnam proudly introduced the Aviva Community Fund program. The fund is an important CSR program implemented by the Aviva Group and has achieved remarkable success in the UK, France, Italy, Poland, Hong Kong (China), and Canada. Its goal is to help more than 5,000 projects and 2.5 million people globally by 2020. Vietnam was the first country in Southeast Asia to implement the Aviva Community Fund, in 2017, and this is also the first CSR program based on the digital platform in Vietnam’s life insurance market.

With an innovative approach, in its first year of deployment the Aviva Community Fund has proven to be a useful platform for creative ideas contributing to a better community. Implemented in three categories: Environment, Education, and Community Health, with total funding up to $65,000 (VND1.5 billion), the program has attracted the attention and interest of many students, volunteer clubs, and non-government organizations. Aviva Vietnam was also honored to establish a strategic partnership with the Vietnam Red Cross Society as well as clubs from famous universities, such as the Action Club at the Foreign Trade University and the Eco Research Club at the University of Economics and Law, to promote the program throughout Vietnam.

At the end of the project submission round, lasting one and a half months, the Aviva Community Fund received over 345 projects from all over the country. After the voting round, more than half a million votes and hundreds of thousands of interactions on social media channels were recorded. With these remarkable achievements, Aviva Vietnam was proud to receive a Golden Dragon Award - Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program, from Vietnam Economic Times, in April. The award is great motivation for Aviva Vietnam in its efforts to contribute to the sustainable development of society in order to create an ideal environment for its current and future customers.

“Aviva believes that local people in each community are the ones who can make a real impact on that region,” said Mr. Nikhil Verma, Deputy CEO of Aviva Vietnam. “And that’s what the Aviva Community Fund is all about - helping communities make a big difference through small changes.”

Through the program, Aviva and its strategic partner the Vietnam Red Cross Society hope to contribute to positive changes in the community by funding the best 33 social projects, enabling project winners’ initiatives to become reality.

“The Aviva Community Fund Program, implemented by Aviva Vietnam and the Vietnam Red Cross Society, aims to call for and fund projects of individuals and organizations that bring about positive change for the community in three categories: Environment, Education, and Community Health, with three different funding levels, of $1,000, $3,000 and $5,000. After successfully implementing the Aviva Community Fund for over six months, Aviva was honored to receive a Golden Dragon Award from Vietnam Economic Times for Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program in the market.”
