Sales up 48% compared to August 2016.

Toyota Vietnam (TMV) recorded impressive sales growth in August, with total sales of 5,794 units, up 48 per cent compared to August 2016.

Sales in the passenger car segment and the commercial vehicle segment reached 2,879 and 2,915 units, respectively, increases of 72 per cent and 31 per cent compared to August 2016.

The Vios continued to lead the passenger car segment, with 2,129 units sold, an impressive increase of 146 per cent compared to August 2016 and confirming its attraction in Vietnam. The Corolla Altis and the Camry saw 191 and 374 units sold, respectively.

In the commercial vehicle segment, the Innova maintained its leading position in the MPV segment in August, with sales of 1,018 units. In line with lower demand during the month, the figure was down slightly compared to August 2016, by 1 per cent.

Regarding completely-built-up (CBU) imports, the Fortuner saw sales of 1,808 units, up 94 per cent compared to August last year and reaching its highest sales since being introduced in Vietnam.

Following was the Yaris, with 185 units, up 25 per cent, the Land Prado with 32 units, the Hilux with 26 units, the Hiace with 21 units, and Land Cruiser with ten units.
