Global healthcare leader Abbott has again been honored among the “Best Places to Work in Vietnam” in 2018 in an annual survey conducted by Anphabe and AC Nielsen.

This is the third consecutive year the company topped the list of “Best Places to Work in Health Care / Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical in Vietnam”. By successfully building a culture of nurturing and empowering employees’ potential, the company has maintained its leading position and strengthened its sustainable development as well as long-term presence in the market.

Vietnam’s healthcare sector and pharmaceutical industry in general have been thriving. According to 2016 study by Austrade and Australia Unlimited, the local healthcare market was estimated to be worth $13 billion in 2015 and an anticipated $24 billion by 2020. The pharmaceutical industry is expected to grow by 10 to 12 per cent in both 2019 and 2020.

Key companies in these fields are therefore competing to attract and retain talent. With 99,000 employees globally and 3,500 in Vietnam, the global healthcare leader is an attractive employer thanks to a strong heritage, high reputation, and a track record of business success.

Both in Vietnam and globally, it holds top positions in many prestigious rankings, such as Fortune World’s Most Admired Company, Top 50 Companies for Executive Women, and Employer of Choice, etc. This recognition confirms Abbott’s commitment to empowering employees to maximize their potential.

“We have various ways to attract and retain talented people,” said Mr. Ngo Van Huy, General Manager of Abbott’s pharmaceuticals business in Vietnam. “It is important for them to feel empowered and strongly believe in the company’s missions and values, so that they are motivated to seek out innovative solutions for health issues and provide a better life for everyone.”

In Vietnam, it provides employees with a dynamic and open working environment, where they have an opportunity to learn, develop their careers, and gain access to advancement opportunities through comprehensive training, mentoring, and leadership development programs. There are a variety of local human resource development programs and policies, as well as comprehensive benefits such as healthcare and flexible working conditions.

Vietnam is one of Abbott’s priority markets. With a presence of more than 20 years, the company has enhanced its commitment to providing quality healthcare solutions for Vietnamese to be in the best of health and discover their full potential.
