ABB introduces digital solutions to boost digital transformation

Tech firm showcases digital solutions and services at Vietnam Industry 4.0 Summit.

ABB introduced its digital solutions and services at the Vietnam Industry 4.0 Summit in Hanoi on October 1, to support customers with the sweeping changes from digital transformation.

Themed “Shaping Vietnam’s sustainable future through digital transformation”, ABB’s booth showcased some of its revolutionary innovations, including ABB Ability™ Smart Sensor, ABB AbilityTM Digital Powertrain, ABB AbilityTM Connected Services, and the Terra54 electric vehicle charger.

Vietnam has established itself as one of the most attractive investment markets in the Industry 4.0 era. The country’s global innovation index is constantly increasing and it is currently leading the group of averagely developing countries. According to the National Digital Transformation Strategy, by 2025, 50 per cent of Vietnam’s small and medium-sized (SMEs) will shift to digital platforms and develop at least 80,000 digital technology enterprises.

Hosted by the Central Economic Committee and ministries, the Vietnam Industry 4.0 Summit is one of the most prestigious, senior level events focusing on the deployment and development of Industry 4.0 in Vietnam. The event this year served as a premium platform not only for knowledge-sharing, discussions, and networking, but also for displaying the most innovative technologies and solutions for digital transformation.

The ABB Ability™ Smart Sensor converts traditional motors, pumps and mounted bearings into smart, wirelessly connected, energy efficient devices. It is expected to save up to 60 per cent in maintenance costs, reduce unplanned downtime by 70 per cent, and raise motor lifetimes by up to 30 per cent.

ABB Ability™ Digital Powertrain integrates sensor and drive data with cloud-based analytics along a whole chain of industrial equipment used in factory environments. With ABB Ability™ Digital Powertrain, customers will gain benefits from improved performance with up to 20 per cent fewer incidents and 60 per cent faster response time and issue recovery.

In Vietnam, transportation is one of the major causes of air pollution in urban areas according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s report titled “Environment Report 2016”. ABB looks forward to bringing the chargers into the country to support sustainable urban mobility.
