Hôtel des Arts Saigon, MGallery Collection in Ho Chi Minh City will welcome talented guest chef Michael Dyllong from the one Michelin-starred Palmgarden in Dortmund, Germany to its Social Club Restaurant from January 16 to 18.

Chef Michael’s talents were recognized early on when he was awarded a prize as Vice World Champion of Young Chefs 2011 while still in his mid-20s. A few years later, he was again highlighted by Gault Millau as a Young Talent in 2014, one year after Palmgarden - a restaurant in his hometown of Dortmund, where he is head chef - was awarded one Michelin star and 15 points from Gault Millau.

Gault et Millau is a French restaurant guide founded by two restaurant critics, Henri Gault and Christian Millau, in 1965. It rates on a scale of 1 to 20, with 20 being the highest. Points are awarded based on the quality of the food, with comments on service, price or atmosphere given separately. His achievements made Chef Michael the youngest chef whose restaurant was awarded Michelin Stars.

During his visit to Hôtel des Arts Saigon, he will personally serve up an aesthetically appealing exquisite seven-course menu for the Chef’s Table, a six-course degustation menu dinner, and a cooking class for haute cuisine enthusiasts in Ho Chi Minh City. Hosted by Executive Chef Egidio Latorraca and his passionate team, Chef Michael will also offer Vietnamese epicureans an artistic yet contemporary fusion of Western flavors with a German touch.

A two-hour long cooking class guided by the chef will take placed at 10am on January 16 at prices starting from VND1.188 million ($52) for a lecture on four dishes with wine pairings, lunch included. The Chef Table dinner is at 7pm on January 16 at prices starting from VND5 million ($217) for seven courses with wine pairings. The Degustation Menu Dinner will start at 7pm, priced from VND3.388 million ($147) for six courses with wine pairings.

The Social Club Restaurant on the 23rd floor is poised to make its mark on the city’s dining and nightlife scene, attracting hotel guests and in-the-know locals alike. Conceived by the internationally-acclaimed Super Potato design firm from Japan, the Social Club’s gorgeous interior is reminiscent of Europe in the 1930s.

Hôtel des Arts Saigon, a member of MGallery Collection, is a haven of art, style, and culture in the heart of energetic Ho Chi Minh City.
