Vietnam steps up digital marketing efforts with new website and social media accounts.

International visitors to Vietnam now have a world-class resource at their fingertips, with the launch of www.vietnam.travel, the country’s official tourism portal.

The portal is designed to deliver quality information and inspiration to travelers and will make use of the latest digital marketing strategies to share Vietnam’s tourism assets with the wider world.

Debuting on June 15 and managed by the Tourism Advisory Board (TAB) in close partnership with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), through a collection of engaging stories, interviews, videos, virtual tours and professional photography the portal aims to entice users to explore Vietnam as a vibrant and accessible holiday destination.

Also on the new domain are practical articles offering reliable advice on everything from visa applications to Vietnamese festivals, to help travelers plan the perfect holiday. Official Vietnam Tourism Facebook and Instagram pages are connected to the site, as platforms for travelers to learn more about Vietnam and share their experience.

Highlights are 360-degree tours of top UNESCO World Heritage Sites, detailed information on 18 Vietnamese destinations, and a downloadable “Vietnam Starter Kit” for first-time travelers. TAB Marketing Manager Ms. Dieu Anh Phung said more first-rate resources are in the works for this year, including video campaigns and contemporary Vietnam travel trailers.

“The www.vietnam.travel portal is intended to inform and inspire travelers at every stage of their trip,” Ms. Phung said. “TAB has enlisted the help of leading digital marketing experts to advise us on content and strategy, and we’re truly excited about the potential of the website and the possibilities ahead.”

The new domain, its video campaigns, and social media accounts are sponsored by members of Vietnam’s private tourism sector, who have each made contributions to a “Vietnam Tourism 2020 Fund” which is being managed by TAB for the purpose of promoting tourism in the country.

The TAB is a consortium of industry leaders and stakeholders from the private travel and tourism sector and has entered into a partnership with VNAT to promote the sustainable development of tourism in the country. It is based in Hanoi and currently manages Vietnam’s official tourism website and its social media platforms on behalf of VNAT.
