Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2019 will run from March 27 to 30 at the International Exhibition Center, 91 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi.

The event features 500 pavilions by 710 travel businesses from 27 countries and territories. Peru and North Korea are participating for the first time.

With the theme “Green Tourism”, the travel mart aims to respond to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development set by the UN. It is the opportunity for businesses to introduce their green tourism products, such as ecotourism, community tourism, and agricultural products, as well as initiatives in environmental protection and climate change adaptation in tourism. Thousands of discounted tour packages are also on offer only at the event.

As sponsors, Vietnam Airlines is offering 4,000 air tickets with special discounts of up to 50 per cent on domestic routes and 30 per cent on international routes, while Jetstar Pacific is also offering 11,000 tickets at only VND11,000 ($0.5) each (excluding taxes and service charges) on both domestic and international flights.

A forum themed “Green Tourism” is being held for the first time, becoming the highlight of the event. Delegates will discuss the development of ecotourism, environmental protection, and responses to climate change.

Other outstanding activities include a forum under the theme “Vietnam’s outbound tourism – opportunities and challenges”, a ceremony to honor outstanding individuals and enterprises in the tourism field in 2018, a seminar on “Vietnamese tourism with the Industrial Revolution 4.0” and arts performances by many delegations from Vietnam and elsewhere.

VITM is the leading travel fair in Vietnam and one of the key travel shows in the region. Held annually in Hanoi since 2013, its prime aim is to boost all three travel pillars: outbound, inbound, and domestic. It is an excellent platform for national tourism organizations and tourism-related businesses to promote, network, and increase awareness about destinations and brand names. Participating in VITM creates an unparalleled chance to engage and expand business, especially for the outbound travel segment. Last year the event welcomed more than 70,000 visitors, while over 85,000 are expected this year.

Entry is free.
