Montgomerie Links in central Quang Nam province was named Best Golf Course in Vietnam at the Asia Pacific Golf Awards in Bangkok on November 3.

The “Oscars” of the Asian golf club industry, the annual awards are given as recognition to those courses that provide a combination of great conditions and high service standards.

Upon accepting the award on behalf of Montgomerie Links, Mr. Taylor Murphy, Director of Golf, said this award in particular is very pleasing as it was voted on by golfers who play in and around the region and is a true indication of the passion that its team show in how they present the facility on a daily basis. He also said that the team at Montgomerie Links will continue to work with other courses in central Vietnam to build on its already growing reputation as a “Go To” golfing destination in the region.

This is not the first time Montgomerie Links has received awards of this stature and it is testament to the ability of the course to offer a consistent five-star product to golfers visiting the region. It has also been named Best Golf Course in Vietnam by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Golf magazine, Asian Golf Monthly, and the Asia Pacific Commercial Property Awards.

Located along the main road between Da Nang and Hoi An, Montgomerie Links is an easy 20-minute drive from Da Nang International Airport and 15 minutes from downtown Da Nang.

Created by golfing legend Colin Montgomerie, the course is truly an international five-star championship links-style course that tees up challenging and enjoyable play for all levels of golfers from around the world.

The traditional links-style design features sandy soil, wind-blown dunes, existing native vegetation, strategically placed bunkers, generous and undulating greens, and closely mown chipping areas. The course also hosts more water holes than most links courses, including lakes and streams that add further aesthetic appeal.

Honored with prestigious awards through the years, the professionally maintained facility offers golfers a full-service experience, including chipping and putting greens that mirror the exact condition of the course, and a 30-bay undercover driving range.

The 2012 Forbes Travel Guide rated Montgomerie Links as one of Asia’s ten most elite courses. It has been designed to capitalize on its close proximity to the warm, tranquil East Sea and famed Marble Mountains, which are clearly visible from various points on the 18-hole course.
