The original lead guitarist for the chart-topping British rock band The Police is set to command the stage for five nights at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi as part of the Sofitel Fête de la musique music celebrations.

Mr. Henry Padovani will perform at Thang Long Hall on Saturday June 23 from 8pm. The 90-minute show will consist of his own compositions in French and English and a number of blues and classic rock songs as well as stories of his personal experiences with some of the most famous and revered names in music. Tickets are VND290,000 each.

He will also perform from June 19 to 22 at Le Club Bar from 8pm to 9pm.

Henry hails from Corsica and formed The Police in 1976 with Sting and Stewart Copeland as the original guitarist before going on to perform with a number of other top artists.

In 1980 he formed his own group, The Flying Padovanis, while at the same time managing Europe’s biggest solo act, Zucchero, which went on to sell more than 15 million albums worldwide.

In 2011 he became a lead judge on the French version of the popular TV show The X Factor.

He started another exciting new project in 2017, Fly Like a Song, touring the best and most exclusive venues in the world and featuring acoustic guitar and vocals.

The Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi has 364 rooms and suites, in which the original colonial grandeur is preserved in the historic Metropole Wing while the newer Opera Wing offers a stylish neo-classical elegance.
