The 15th International Travel Expo - ITE Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) 2019 will take place from September 5 to 7 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), VINEXAD and Informa Exhibitions, and the city’s People’s Committee in coordination with the Department of Tourism.

The expo aims to connect Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general to other tourist destinations, cities, and countries and territories in the region, to shape regional-level tourism cooperation or transnational chains of tourist destinations so as to better serve international tourists.

This year’s expo will be expanded by 55 per cent in size and 40 per cent in business participants compared to last year. It also focuses on major markets such as North America, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and Europe, to create a breakthrough in the city’s tourism promotion in the 2019-2020 period.

There will be some 350 exhibitors, including airlines, hoteliers, travel companies, corporations, and tourism promotion organizations from Vietnam and over 40 countries and territories such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), India, Bhutan, the UAE, Turkey, Russia, and Germany.

Opening times are longer than previously, from 9am to 7pm each day.

The expo will feature activities such as an International Travel Mart and seminars introducing new and trend-setting destinations in Vietnam, cruise tourism, solo travel, and key markets. Travel experts will discuss and share solutions for tourism development during Industry 4.0.

A business matching event will be held in order to give travel enterprises the opportunity to connect, partner, and share their supply chains in tourism both in Vietnam and abroad. It is expected to welcome some 1,000 CEOs and directors of travel businesses.

There will be also forums on Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta tourism development and on tourism startups, the ITE Travel Awards ceremony, and a Travel Fun Fair Day with promotions on air tickets and tour packages.

The expo is expected to attract about 35,000 visitors, compared to 30,000 last year.

ITE HCMC has established itself as an important annual international travel event in Vietnam, providing a venue for international and regional buyers, suppliers, trade professionals, and media partners of tourism and travel organizations to meet and exchange the latest developments in the industry.
