Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort held an event entitled “A Day in a French village” last weekend to introduce the resort’s history and the different story behind each villa to tourists.

The event offered a new type of sightseeing for many visitors, who already love and choose Ana Mandara Villas Dalat as the destination for their holidays in the picturesque hill town.

The event took visitors back to days gone by and explored the architectural, historical, and personal tales of the French presence on the site of the resort, known as a “A Miniature Paris in Vietnam”.

Visitors enjoyed a day of slow living in the old French village after travelling to the resort in the old motor cars. They took in its classic and elegant European style, from the comfort of the rooms to the costumes and manner of the resort’s staff, which together provided a sense of the old French countryside.

The journey back to the old days included tales of the history and the impressions of the French who lived in the “Amazing Residence”, as the French village of Ana Mandara Villas Dalat was once known.

For afternoon tea, guests enjoyed sweet cakes prepared by the resort’s skilled chef and drank a little tea or coffee.

After a long day with a host of activities, a luxurious dinner party brought relaxation to guests, with Chef Huong treating all diners to French-inspired dishes. A French sommelier spoke of wines and how to combine them to make food more delicious and attractive.

“A Day in a French Village” was a success and a practical activity within the resort’s promise to improve the quality of service. It also marked the beginning of the next ten years of Ana Mandara Villas Dalat, with increasingly sustainable development and success.

Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa is set in the cool climate of the rural central highlands, within lush rolling hills and just a five-minute drive from Da Lat. The resort comprises 17 fully-restored luxury French-style villas converted into 79 guest rooms, with the original design, décor, and charm of the 1920s and 1930s preserved. The villas boast views of nearby Da Lat and the countryside.

Each room has a different vibe with distinctive design and interiors. Some rooms feature old wooden ceilings and mountain views, while others have a working fireplace and old wooden doors leading directly into the garden. All have wooden floors, with their creaking sound adding to the charm. Beautiful large bathrooms with free standing bathtubs are found in all, which are very much appreciated on cool Da Lat evenings. The furniture and decor in all rooms is in dark wood, as is the design of the villas. Together it provides a cozy, home-like feel.
