Bank introduces VPBank Diamond for members of Vietnam's growing middle and upper classes.

The Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) recently launched VPBank Diamond, aimed specifically at the growing high-end customer segment in Vietnam.

The new private banking service targets affluent customers with a combination of financial solutions that are designed in accordance with customer demands in savings, lending, insurance, and high-end services such as World Master Card.

“Our customers in the segment are successful people with strong financial potential and busy lives and know how to manage their own and their family’s assets,” said Mr. Gauraw Srivastava, Director of the High-end Customer Segment at VPBank. “VPBank Diamond offers customers world-class services tailor-made to meet their needs in the most efficient and convenient way.”

Vietnam’s high and stable economic growth over recent years has increased its middle and upper classes. Global market consultancy Boston Consulting Group forecasts that this segment may reach 33 million by 2020. Another forecast from Nielsen put the number even higher, at up to 44 million by 2020 and 95 million by 2030. The rapid rise in these classes leads to greater demand for advanced banking services and VPBank Diamond is in response to this growing demand, according to the bank.

“This is a great time for us to introduce VPBank Diamond and improve our customer services,” said Mr. Gauraw, adding that the service would focus on major cities like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hai Phong in its first phase.

He added that VPBank has been investing in human resources, systems, products, platforms and brands, including the recruitment of 150 additional specialists. Customers using the VPBank Diamond service can receive support from specialists in different sectors, such as investment, foreign currency, insurance and lending.

For maximum convenience and integrity, VPBank Diamond customers have access to banking services from many different channels, such as Door Step Banking, a separate transaction office (no waiting), a private hotline (automatic reconnection after one hour of a missed call), separate channels (both for web pitches and mobile applications), and specially trained and professional staff that are always available when needed.
