VN-Index up, HNX-Index down

Mixed day on Vietnam's stock market on October 10.

The VN-Index closed up while the HNX-Index closed down on October 10.

On HSX, the VN-Index gained 1.69 points (0.21 per cent) and the VN30-Index 3.81 points (0.48 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index lost 0.18 points (0.16 per cent) while the HNX30-Index increased 0.3 points (0.15 per cent). The UPCoM-Index fell 0.04 points (0.08 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX reached VND2.96 trillion ($128.6 million), 13.2 per cent higher than yesterday, and on HNX was VND496.28 billion ($21.6 million), 19.6 per cent lower.

The VN-Index opened at 808.43 points and fell to 807.36 points before ending the morning at 807.47 points. It then closed the day at 810.65 points.

In food and beverages, BBC increased 0.5 per cent while KDC lost 1.5 per cent, VNM 0.3 per cent and TLG 0.1 per cent. TAC and VCF closed at their opening price.

In banking, VPB increased 1.5 per cent, MBB and VCB 0.6 per cent, BVH 0.4 per cent, and VCI 0.2 per cent, while EIB lost 1.7 per cent, SSI 0.8 per cent, and CTG 0.5 per cent. BID, MSN, and STB closed at their opening price.

In energy, NT2 rose 1.8 per cent, PLX 1 per cent, and PVD 0.4 per cent, while GAS lost 2.2 per cent. PVT, PPC, and PGD closed at their opening price.

In construction and real estate, DXG gained 2.7 per cent, QCG 0.9 per cent, FLC 0.7 per cent, ROS 0.6 per cent, VIC 0.4 per cent, and REE 0.1 per cent. HT1 lost 0.7 per cent and ITA 0.2 per cent, as NVL and CTD closed at their opening price.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were NT2 (VND7.2 billion ($313,043)), VCI (VND7.1 billion ($308,695)), VIC (VND6.5 billion ($282,608)), PLX (VND4.9 billion ($213,043)), and HPG (VND4.6 billion ($200,000)).

On HSX, KBC was the largest net sold share, with VND21.8 billion ($947,826), followed by VCB (VND20.2 billion ($878,260)), SSI (VND19 billion ($826,086)), MSN (VND13.5 billion ($586,956)), and VJC (VND8 billion ($347,826)).

PVS was the largest net sold share on HNX, with VND9.6 billion ($417,391), followed by VGC (VND7.2 billion ($313,043)), SHB (VND1.9 billion ($82,608)), SHS (VND652 million ($28,347)), and VCS (VND586.5 million ($25,460)).

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 143,998 shares worth VND21.39 billion ($930,000).

They net sold on HSX by VND65.08 billion ($2.8 million) and on HNX by VND18.32 billion ($796,521).
