VN-Index hits 2017 high

Index now nudging 850 points as all main indexes finish in positive territory on November 6.

Vietnam’s stock market had a positive first day of the new week on November 6, with all main indexes closing higher and the VN-Index hitting a new peak for 2017 in approaching 850 points.
On HSX, the VN-Index closed at 849.09 points, up 5.36 points (0.64 per cent), while the VN30-Index reached 844.73 points, up 4.69 points (0.56 per cent).
On HNX, the HNX-Index closed at 105.09 points, up 0.73 points (0.70 per cent), while the HNX30-Index reached 195.17 points, up 2.22 points (1.15 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index 53.30 points, up 0.51 points (0.97 per cent).
Liquidity on HSX was VND6.35 trillion ($278.4 million) and on HNX was VND427 billion ($18.7 million).
FLC, PVD, and SBT led in liquidity on HSX, with 8.7 million, 7.7 million, and 7.66 million shares, respectively. FLC rose 4.59 per cent to VND6,610 ($0.29) and PVD rose 0.63 per cent to VND16,100 ($0.71), while SBT lost 4.77 per cent to VND19,950 ($0.87).
On HSX, there were 197 shares increasing and 77 decreasing, while 94 increased and 65 fell on HNX. 
Most large banking shares closed higher, except for VPB. CTG rose 3.5 per cent, BID 2.0 per cent, VCB 1.4 per cent, ACB 1.3 per cent, and MBB 1.1 per cent, while VPB lost 0.7 per cent.
In food and beverages, VNM increased 1.8 per cent and KDC 0.5 per cent while SAB and MSN remained unchanged.
Most large energy shares increased, except for PLX. PVS, GAS, NT2 and PVD increased 2.6 per cent, 2.0 per cent, 0.8 per cent, and 0.6 per cent, respectively, while PLX fell 4.2 per cent.
In real estate and construction, HBC closed the day at its ceiling price (up 6.8 per cent) and CTD increased 5.8 per cent and VIC 0.5 per cent, while NVL shed 0.2 per cent.
Among other large caps, HPG rose 1.9 per cent, VCS 1.6 per cent, MWG 1.2 per cent, and FPT 0.8 per cent. The Vincom Retail Joint Stock Company (Stock code: VRE) listed on HSX today and closed at its ceiling price (up 20.0 per cent) and entered the list of the ten largest capitalized shares on the exchange.
The Top 5 rising shares on HSX were VRE, CMX, CCL, HAI, and HU1, and on HNX were HNC, V21, HGM, CCM, and SJC. 
The Top 5 falling shares on HSX were TRA, HU3, SPM, ROS, and SC5, and DST, NHC, POT, BED, and VSM on HNX.
Foreign investors net bought on HSX by VND40.84 billion ($1.79 million) and on HNX by VND4.32 billion ($190,000).
