VN-Index closes at 2017 high

Index gains 0.62% to finish at 820.95 points on October 13.

Vietnam’s stock market ended the week on a positive note on October 13, with the VN-Index closing at its highest level this year as most other indexes also gained ground.
On HSX, the VN-Index closed at 820.95 points, up 5.08 points (0.62 per cent), while the VN30-Index reached 815.47 points, up 5.87 points (0.73 per cent).
On HNX, the HNX-Index closed at 109.11 points, up 0.73 points (0.67 per cent), while the HNX30-Index reached 200.82 points, up 1.60 points (0.80 per cent). The UPCoM-Index closed at 53.97 points, down 0.27 points (0.49 per cent).
Liquidity on HSX reached VND3.35 trillion ($147.45 million) and on HNX was VND543 billion ($23.9 million).
FLC, HAI, and HQC led in liquidity on HSX, with 20.4 million, 7 million, and 5.6 million shares, respectively, changing hands. FLC rose 0.39 per cent to VND7,730 ($0.34) and HAI 6.67 per cent to VND12,000 ($0.53), while HQC fell 1.27 per cent to VND3,100 ($0.14).
On HSX, there were 132 shares increasing and 131 decreasing, while 88 increased and 75 fell on HNX. 
The VN-Index opened at 815.87 points, hit its lowest level of the day of 814.20 points, and then ended the day at 820.95 points.
Most large banking shares increased: ACB by 1.9 per cent, MBB 1.1 per cent, VCB and CTG 0.8 per cent, VPB 0.4 per cent, and BID 0.2 per cent.
In food and beverages, SAB rose 2.3 per cent, MSN 1.6 per cent, and VNM 0.9 per cent, while KDC lost 0.4 per cent.
Most large caps in energy increased, with PVD, GAS, NT2 and PVS increasing 2.1 per cent, 1.6 per cent, 0.9 per cent, and 0.6 per cent, respectively, while PLX closed at its opening price.
In real estate and construction, VIC, HBC, and NVL increased 1.8 per cent, 0.3 per cent, and 0.2 per cent, respectively, while CTD closed at its opening price.
Among other large caps, MWG gained 1.6 per cent, VCS 0.8 per cent, and FPT 0.4 per cent, while HPG lost 1.4 per cent.
The Top 5 rising shares on HSX were D2D, KPF, HU1, IDI, and NNC, and HNC, V21, HGM, CCM, and SJC on HNX. 
The Top 5 falling shares on HSX were KHA, VRC, STT, BHN, and NAV, and KHL, CMI, KTT, SAP, and VAT on HNX.
Foreign investors net bought on HSX by VND5.08 billion ($220,000) and net sold on HNX by VND17.76 billion ($780,000).
