VN-Index closes above 800 points

HSX does better than HNX on September 8.

The VN-Index gained ground on September 8 while the HNX-Index closed down.

On HSX, the VN-Index increased 4.48 points (0.56 per cent) and the VN30-Index 5.54 points (0.71 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index fell 0.69 points (0.66 per cent) and the HNX30-Index 0.76 points (0.39 per cent) while the UPCoM-Index increased 0.06 points (0.11 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX reached VND2.8 trillion ($121.7 million), 14.8 per cent lower than yesterday, and on HNX was VND498.3 billion ($21.6 million), 8.4 per cent higher.

The VN-Index opened at 797.98 points and rose to 801.01 points before ending the morning at 799.51 points. It then closed the day at 801.20 points.

In food and beverages, TAC gained 6.2 per cent and TLG 1.4 per cent as VCF and KDC closed at their opening price and KDC lost 0.6 per cent and VNM 0.3 per cent.

In banking, MSN increased 6.4 per cent and BVH 1.1 per cent while VCB closed at its opening price. BID lost 2.4 per cent, MBB 1.9 per cent, VPB and STB 0.9 per cent, CTG 0.8 per cent, SSI and EIB 0.4 per cent, and VCI 0.3 per cent.

In energy, GAS rose 1.4 per cent and PLX 0.1 per cent as PPC and PVT closed at their opening price and NT2 lost 1.7 per cent, PVD 1.4 per cent, and PGD 0.1 per cent.

In construction and real estate, QCG gained 6.8 per cent, VIC 1.3 per cent, FLC 1.2 per cent, ROS 0.8 per cent, and CTD 0.5 per cent, while ITA and NVL closed at their opening price and REE lost 1.3 per cent and HT1 1.2 per cent.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were VIC (VND24.4 billion ($1 million)), GAS (VND18.4 billion ($800,000)), DCM (VND5.9 billion ($256,521)), SAB (VND5.7 billion ($247,826)), and CTG (VND5.7 billion ($247,826).

On HSX, NVL was the largest net sold share, with VND21.6 billion ($939,130), followed by MSN (VND10.4 billion ($452,173)), ROS (VND10.1 billion ($439,130)), GMD (VND8.5 billion ($369,565)), and BMP (VND5 billion ($217,391)).

PVS was the largest net sold share on HNX, with VND3.3 billion ($143,478), followed by PDB (VND1.5 billion ($65,217)), VCG (VND997 million ($43,347)), TV2 (VND699.3 million ($30,404)), and PHC (VND404.5 million ($17,586)).

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 31,475 shares worth VND1.55 billion ($67,391).

They net sold on HSX by VND26.72 billion ($1.1 million) and on HNX by VND697.11 million ($30,309).
