Main indexes gain ground

Gains on both markets on February 27.

All main indexes on Vietnam’s stock market finished in positive territory on February 27.

On HSX, the VN-Index closed at 1,119.61 points, up 5.08 points (0.46 per cent), while the VN30-Index closed at 1,106.09 points, up 6.38 points (0.58 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index finished the day at 127.29 points, up 1.10 points (0.88 per cent), the HNX30-Index 244.76 points, up 1.8 points (0.74 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index 60.07 points, up 0.33 points (0.55 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX was VND5.46 trillion ($239.9 million) and VND953.1 billion ($41.8 million) on HNX.

The VN-Index opened at 1,114.03 points and ended the day at 1,119.61 points.

Most large food and beverages shares fell, with BBC, TLG, DQG, TAC and VCF losing 6.6, 3.8, 2.1, 0.8, and 0.5 per cent, while KDC rose 4.1 per cent and VNM closed at its opening price.

Most large banking shares increased: CTG, EIB, VCB, MSN, VPB, MBB, SSI, STB, BVH and BID by 4.6, 2.3, 1.8, 1.7, 1.7, 0.8, 0.6, 0.2, and 0.1 per cent, while VCI closed at its opening price.

In energy, PVT, PVD, PPC and GAS gained 6.5, 3.8, 1.5, and 0.4 per cent while NT2, PGD and PLX shed 4.5, 1.8, and 0.7 per cent.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were SBT (VND23.6 billion ($1.03 million)), MSN (VND22.48 billion ($987,953)), LDG (VND12.6 billion ($553,746)), HPG (VND6.57 billion ($288,739)), and NVL (VND5.5 billion ($241,714)).

VJC was the largest net sold share on HSX, with VND45.4 billion ($1.99 million), followed by DIG (VND20.6 billion ($905,330)), BID (VND16.2 billion ($711,959)), BMP (VND15.6 billion ($685,590)), and PLX (VND14.57 billion ($640,323)).

VGC was the largest net sold share on HNX, with VND13.8 billion ($606,483), followed by HUT (VND4.6 billion ($202,161)), MAS (VND1.4 billion ($61,527)), BCC (VND986.5 million ($43,354)), and SD6 (VND808.6 million ($35,536)).

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 82,654 shares worth VND1.05 billion ($46,145).

They net sold on HSX by VND196.5 billion ($8.63 million) and net sold on HNX by VND11.01 billion ($483,868).
