Only UPCoM closes down

All main indexes gain ground on September 5, with UPCoM the exception.

The UPCoM-Index was the only main index on Vietnam’s stock market to close down on September 5.

On HSX, the VN-Index increased 3.58 points (0.45 per cent) and the VN30-Index 2.96 points (0.38 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index rose 0.58 points (0.56 per cent) and the HNX30-Index 1.15 points (0.6 per cent) while the UPCoM-Index lost 0.03 points (0.05 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX reached VND3.1 trillion ($134.7 million), 8.5 per cent higher than last Friday, and on HNX was VND426.9 billion ($18.5 million), 30.9 per cent higher.

The VN-Index opened at 790.26 points and fell to 788.72 points before ending the morning at 792.48 points. It then closed the day at 792.31 points.

In food and beverages, KDC gained 3.5 per cent and VNM 0.7 per cent while VCF and BBC closed at their opening price. TAC lost 1.2 per cent and TLG 0.9 per cent.

In banking, STB increased 2.2 per cent, VCB 1.9 per cent, VPB 0.3 per cent, and BVH 0.2 per cent, while CTG fell 0.8 per cent, MSN 0.6 per cent, BID 0.5 per cent, EIB, MBB, and SSI 0.4 per cent, and VCI 0.2 per cent.

In energy, PVT rose 3.1 per cent, NT2 2.4 per cent, GAS 1.9 per cent, PVD 0.7 per cent, and PLX 0.3 per cent as PPC closed at its opening price and PGD lost 6.9 per cent.

In construction and real estate, HT1 gained 7 per cent, QCG 3.5 per cent, VIC and ROS 1.6 per cent, and CTD 0.4 per cent. REE and ITA closed at their opening price and FLC lost 4.4 per cent and NVL and DXG 0.2 per cent.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were VNM (VND34 billion ($1.47 million)), PLX (VND21.3 billion ($926,086)), VCB (VND19.3 billion ($839,130)), HPG (VND12.8 billion ($556,521)), and BID (VND8 billion ($347,826)).

On HSX, MSN was the largest net sold share, with VND35.5 billion ($1.5 million), followed by NVL (VND21.5 billion ($934,782)), VIC (VND17.8 billion ($773,913)), STB (VND8.7 billion ($378,260)), and SKG (VND6.1 billion ($265,217)).

CEO was the largest net sold share on HNX, with VND1.2 billion ($52,173), followed by ACB (VND475 million ($20,652)), SHN (VND350 million ($15,217)), VCS (VND322 million ($14,000)), and PVX (VND216.2 million ($9,400)).

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 187,440 shares worth VND10.4 billion ($45,217).

They net bought on HSX by VND60.13 billion ($2.6 million) and on HNX by VND8.01 billion ($348,260).
