The market continued to boom in the afternoon after an exciting morning session.

After the morning excitement, the market continued to boom in the early minutes of the afternoon session.

Although liquidity wasn’t too high investor sentiment remained cautious about the "bull trap" sessions. However, the money flow spread well across the board.

At the end of the session, more money poured into the market, helping the indexes break through strongly. Accordingly, the VN-Index closed up 35.46 points (3.45 per cent) to 1,062.26 points and the HNX-Index increased by 3.98 points (3.25 per cent) to 126.55 points.

The rise didn’t just concentrate on the banking group. It also spread throughout the market. Securities stocks, real estate, construction, oil, and gas increased sharply creating a bit of excitement in the market.

In the afternoon trading session, after a few moments of hesitation, the two indexes rallied as a series of stocks reached the ceiling price. Many big stocks such as CTG, BID, ROS, PNJ and others such as VCB, VNM, SAB, MSN, VPB, BVH, NVL, and MBB increased sharply.

In the HSX, total trading volume was worth VND4.9 trillion ($215.18 million), down slightly by 4.9 per cent in volume and value in actual terms. In particular, put-through transactions contributed 33 million units worth VND1.4 trillion ($61.48 million).

In the HNX, total trading volume reached 55.13 million shares, worth VND831.54 billion ($36.51 million), down 29.86 per cent in volume and 9.51 per cent in value compared to the last session. In particular, put-through transactions contributed 12 million units worth VND125.55 billion ($5.53 million).

Of the top five stocks with the best liquidity, CTG ranks second with 6.3mn shares, followed by MBB with 5.17mn shares, and STB 4.88mn shares.

Blue chips BVH, GAS, FPT, HPG, MSN, PNJ, MWG, VNM, SAB, BHN also did quite well helping the green market consolidation.
