HNX does better than HSX but HNX-Index up only slightly.

The VN-Index again lost ground on May 17.

It closed on HSX at 1,030.64 points, down 23.98 points (2.27 per cent), while the VN30-Index finished at 1,007.09 points, down 27.21 points (2.63 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index ended the day at 121.50 points, up 0.01 points (0.01 per cent), the HNX30-Index 224.78 points, up 0.91 points (0.41 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index 55.97 points, up 0.04 points (0.07 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX was VND3.2 trillion ($140.5 million) and VND606.2 billion ($26.6 million) on HNX.

Most large food and beverages stocks lost ground, with BHN, SAB, TLG, VNM, VCF and KDC falling by 5, 4.2, 3.8, 2.4, 1 and 0.1 per cent, respectively. DQG gained 1.5 per cent and TAC 1 per cent as BBC closed at its opening price.

In banking, CTG gained 0.3 per cent as MSN lost 6.4 per cent, VPB 5.2 per cent, BVH 4.5 per cent, VCI and SSI 2.6 per cent, STB 2.3 per cent, EIB 2 per cent, MBB 1.3 per cent, BID 0.6 per cent, and VCB 0.4 per cent. TPB closed at its opening price.

Gainers in energy included PGD, by 6.6 per cent, PVD 4.3 per cent, and PPC 2.2 per cent. GAS lost 3.1 per cent, PLX 1.4 per cent, and PVT 0.3 per cent, while NT2 closed at its opening price.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were CTG, CII, FRT, GAS and NLG.

HPG was the largest net share sold on HSX, followed by VJC, VNM, MSN and PLX.

VGC was the largest net share sold on HNX, followed by PLC, CEO, SHB and TV2.

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 617,770 shares worth VND7.59 billion ($333,230).

They net sold on HSX by VND205.84 billion ($9 million) and on HNX by VND14.04 billion ($616,410).
