Main indexes back in positive territory

All main indexes on Vietnam’s stock market closed higher on July 11.

On HSX, the VN-Index increased 2.8 points (0.37 per cent) and the VN30-Index 1.96 points (0.26 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index closed up 0.05 per cent and the HNX30-Index 0.94 points (0.51 per cent), while the UPCoM-Index lost 0.15 points (0.27 per cent).

The VN-Index opened the day at 766.56 points and closed the morning down 0.12 points, at 766.4 points. It hit its bottom of the day of 761.6 points mid-afternoon before recovering sharply to close the day at 769.36 points.

Liquidity on HXS reached VND3.37 trillion ($148.25 million) and on HNX was VND646.17 billion ($28.42 million).

In banking, VCB rose 0.05 per cent and MBB 2.2 per cent while CTG and BID closed at their opening price.

In construction and real estate, HBC hit its celling in rising 7 per cent, VIC, ROS and NVL increased 2.4 per cent, 0.6 per cent, and 0.3 per cent, respectively, and CTD lost 0.2 per cent.

In energy, GAS lost 0.3 per cent and PVS and PVD closed at their opening price.

In beverages, VNM increased 0.9 per cent, BVH 0.3 points, and HSG and SAB 0.2 per cent, while FPT lost 1.2 per cent and HPG 0.6 per cent.

On HNX, PVI up 4.1 per cent, VCG 1.5 per cent, SHB up 1.2 per cent, and VCS 1.1 per cent, while ACB, NTP and PVS closed at their opening price.

Foreign investors net bought on HSX by VND105.87 billion ($4.65 million) and net sold on HNX by VND9.59 billion ($421,879).

The Top 4 stocks on HSX that foreign investors net bought were HAG (VND23.61 billion or $1.03 million), HPG (VND21.34 billion or $938,761), DPM (VND15.31 billion or $673,497), and VNM (VND15.13 billion or $665,595).

The stock market will continue to be green tomorrow and retest the resistance level of 770 points. This recovery may be a good time to realize gains on stocks that have grown well. Investors should be careful while the market is entering cumulative rallies, and only purchase shares with solid fundamentals and impressive business results. Notable shares include MBB, PNJ, HSG, HPG, SSI, and REE.
