All indexes lose ground

VN-Index slips back under 800 points on tough September 11.

All main indexes on Vietnam’s stock market closed in negative territory on September 11.

On HSX, the VN-Index fell 3.73 points (0.47 per cent) and the VN30-Index 5.16 points (0.66 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index lost 1.03 points (0.99 per cent), the HNX30-Index 1.95 points (1.01 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index 0.05 points (0.1 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX reached VND3.2 trillion ($139.1 million), 15.2 per cent higher than last Friday, and on HNX was VND524.4 billion ($22.8 million), 5.2 per cent higher.

The VN-Index opened at 801.2 points and rose to 804.33 points before ending the morning at 802.14 points. It then closed the day at 797.47 points.

In food and beverages, KDC lost 1.2 per cent, VNM 0.5 per cent, and BBC 0.2 per cent as VCF, TLG, and TAC closed at their opening price.

In banking, BVH increased 1.8 per cent and MSN 0.6 per cent, while VCB closed at its opening price. VCI lost 3.8 per cent, VPB 3.1 per cent, MBB 1.3 per cent, CTG 1.1 per cent, SSI 1 per cent, BID 0.7 per cent, and STB and EIB 0.4 per cent.

In energy, PLX rose 0.1 per cent while PGD lost 4.5 per cent, PVT 3 per cent, NT2 2.8 per cent, PPC 2 per cent, GAS 1.9 per cent, and PVD 1.5 per cent.

In construction and real estate, ROS gained 1 per cent while NVL closed at its opening price. DXG lost 4.7 per cent, QCG 4.5 per cent, FLC 3.2 per cent, HT1 2.2 per cent, VIC 2.6 per cent, CTD 0.3 per cent, and REE 0.1 per cent.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were MSN (VND89.4 billion ($3.8 million)), SBT (VND25.9 billion ($1.1 million)), VJC (VND11.8 billion ($513,043)), SSI (VND11.6 billion ($504,347)), and HBC (VND9.6 billion ($417,391)).

On HSX, VNM was the largest net sold share, with VND24.3 billion ($1 million), followed by BMP (VND16.2 billion ($704,347)), VCB (VND14.8 billion ($643,478)), NVL (VND13.7 billion ($595,652)), and DXG (VND8.9 billion ($386,956)).

PVS was the largest net sold share on HNX, with VND10.7 billion ($465,217), followed by CSC (VND1 billion ($43,478)), NVB (VND740 million ($32,173)), SHB (VND653.7 million ($28,421)), and TV2 (VND653.1 million ($28,395)).

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 48,943 shares worth VND4.78 billion ($207,826).

They net bought on HSX by VND80.7 billion ($3.5 million) and net sold on HNX by VND8.89 billion ($386,521).
