June 12: VN-Index down 1.76%

Main indexes on both bourses finish in negative territory.

The VN-Index finished June 12 at 1,020.76 points on HSX, down 18.26 points (1.76 per cent), while the VN30-Index ended the day at 1,008.76 points, down 16.09 points (1.57 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index closed at 116.49 points, down 1.97 points (1.66 per cent), the HNX30-Index 208.9 points, down 5.05 points (2.36 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index 53.00 points, down 0.64 points (1.20 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX was VND5.1 trillion ($223.5 million) and VND799.3 billion ($35 million) on HNX.

Some large food and beverage stocks gained ground, with TAC, BBC, and VNM increasing 4.4, 0.6, and 0.5 per cent, respectively. BHN lost 2.6 per cent, SAB 1.6 per cent, and KDC 1.4 per cent as VCF and TLG closed at their opening price.

In banking, BID lost 4.5 per cent, TCB 3.7 per cent, VCI 3.4 per cent, MSN 3.1 per cent, MBB 2.8 per cent, BVH 2.6 per cent, CTG and EIB 2.3 per cent, VCB 1.7 per cent, VPB and SSI 1.3 per cent, and TPB 1.1 per cent. STB gained 1.6 per cent.

Losers in energy included GAS, by 5.1 per cent, PVD 3.5 per cent, PVT 2.7 per cent, PLX 2.3 per cent, PPC 1.1 per cent, and NT2 0.2 per cent, as PGD closed at its opening price.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were VNM, NVL, SSI, VRE and STB.

VIC was the largest net share sold on HSX, followed by VHM, MSN, VNG and GAS.

VGC was the largest net share sold on HNX, followed by TIG, CEO, CIA and NTP.

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 1,042,552 shares worth VND3.25 billion ($142,335).

They net sold on HSX by VND296.99 billion ($13 million) and net bought on HNX by VND484.99 million ($21,240).
