All main indexes close lower.

The VN-Index ended July 5 on HSX at 899.40 points, down 15.59 points (1.70 per cent), while the VN30-Index closed at 883.77 points, down 17.12 points (1.90 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index closed at 96.39 points, down 3.60 points (3.60 per cent), the HNX30-Index 172.71 points, down 6.99 points (3.89 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index 49.25 points, down 0.76 points (1.51 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX was VND2.97 trillion ($128.87 million) and VND512.5 billion ($22.2 million) on HNX.

Food and beverage stocks to lose ground included BHN, SAB, VNM, KDC and LTG, by 6.2, 2.7, 1.2, 0.9 and 0.3 per cent, respectively, as BBC gained 5.3 per cent and TAC 2.4 per cent. VCF closed at its opening price.

Losers in banking included VCB, CTG, BID, MBB, STB, VPB, SSI, BVH, TPB and MSN, by 6.5, 6.4, 5.7, 5.6, 5.6, 4.5, 1.5, 1.1, 0.6 and 0.3 per cent, respectively, as TCB gained 4.3 per cent and VCI 2.8 per cent. EIB closed at its opening price.

In energy, PGD gained 3.3 per cent as GAS lost 6.9 per cent, PLX 5 per cent, NT2 3 per cent, PPC 2 per cent, PVD 0.4 per cent. PVT closed at its opening price.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were SSI, PLX, NT2, BMP and VRE.

VHM was the largest net share sold on HSX, followed by MSN, BID, STB and YEG.

PVS was the largest net share sold on HNX, followed by MAS, VCS, KVC and HDA.

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 643,548 shares worth VND7.53 billion ($326,765).

They net sold on HSX by VND232.40 billion ($10 million) and net bought on HNX by VND16.78 billion ($728,170).
