HSX up while HNX down, except for UPCoM-Index.

The VN-Index ended July 31 on HSX at 956.39 points, up 6.66 points (0.70 per cent), while the VN30-Index closed at 944.38 points, up 4.78 points (0.51 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index closed at 106.16 points, down 0.60 points (0.56 per cent), the HNX30-Index 190.35 points, down 1.56 points (0.81 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index 50.48 points, up 0.19 points (0.38 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX was VND4.3 trillion ($184.9 million) and VND458.9 billion ($19.7 million) on HNX.

Food and beverage stocks to lose ground included BHN, VCF, TAC, SAB, TLG, VNM and BBC, by 3.5, 3.4, 2.5, 2.2, 0.6, 0.3, and 0.2 per cent, respectively.

Gainers in banking included TCB, BVH, MSN, VCB and SSI, by 6.5, 4.1, 3.4, 2.1 and 1 per cent, respectively, as CTG lost 1 per cent, VPB 0.7 per cent, STB, TPB and EIB 0.4 per cent, and MBB 0.2 per cent. BID closed its opening price.

In energy, PGD gained 6 per cent, PLX 4.3 per cent, GAS 1 per cent, PVD 0.8 per cent, PPC 0.5 per cent, and NT2 0.2 per cent, respectively, as PVT closed at its opening price.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were SSI, HDB, HPG, VCB and BID.

VIC was the largest net sold share on HSX, followed by NVL, VRE, VNM and MSN.

HMH was the largest net sold share on HNX, followed by KLF, CSC, DHT and KVC.

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 136,045 shares worth VND3.86 billion ($166,200).

They net sold on HSX by VND69.69 billion ($3 million) and on HNX by VND9.97 billion ($428,820).
