UPCoM the only main index to close down.

The VN-Index ended July 12 on HSX at 898.51 points, up 5.35 points (0.60 per cent), while the VN30-Index closed at 883.87 points, up 2.73 points (0.31 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index closed at 100.43 points, up 1.91 points (1.94 per cent), the HNX30-Index 177.59 points, up 2.89 points (1.66 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index 48.82 points, down 0.05 points (0.11 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX was VND1.8 trillion ($78 million) and VND380.4 billion ($16.48 million) on HNX.

Food and beverage stocks to lose ground included BBC, TAC, SAB, TLG, and KDC, by 6.9, 3, 0.9, 0.3 and 0.2 per cent, respectively, as BHN gained 1.1 per cent, VNM 0.8 per cent, and VCF 0.1 per cent.

Gainers in banking included CTG, BID, MBB, VCB, VPB, STB, BVH, TCB and SSI, by 4.3, 4.1, 4.1, 2.3, 1.7, 1.5, 1.4, 1, and 0.4 per cent, respectively, as VCI lost 3.5 per cent and TPB 0.2 per cent. EIB and MSN closed at their opening price.

In energy, PGD gained 3.2 per cent and GAS 1.5 per cent, as PVD lost 2.4 per cent, NT2 1.3 per cent, and PLX 0.9 per cent. PVT and PPC closed at their opening price.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were VRE, VCB, DXG, CTG and KDH.

SSI was the largest net share sold on HSX, followed by MSN, BID, VJC and KDC.

LAS was the largest net share sold on HNX, followed by SD9, S55, CAP and DGL.

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 14,095 shares worth VND740.33 million ($32,080).

They net sold on HSX by VND64.26 billion ($2.78 million) and net bought on HNX by VND791.95 million ($34,315).
