All indexes lose ground

Poor August 9 on Vietnam's stock market.

All indexes on Vietnam’s stock market closed lower on August 9.

On HSX, the VN-Index fell 17.91 points (2.26 per cent) and the VN30-Index 17.06 points (2.25 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index lost 1.22 points (1.19 per cent), the HNX30-Index 2.93 points (1.55 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index 0.17 points (0.30 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX reached VND4.7 trillion ($204 million), 27 per cent higher than yesterday, and on HNX was VND898 billion ($39 million), 49 per cent higher.

The VN-Index opened at 789.15 points and fell to 786.48 points before ending the morning at 781.15 points. It then closed the day at 773.66 points.

In food and beverages, TLG rose 2.9 per cent and TAC 2.6 per cent while BBC lost 4.3 per cent, VNM 1.3 per cent, and KDC 0.7 per cent.

In banking, BID lost 6.8 per cent, CTG 4.3 per cent, MBB 3.6 per cent, STB 3.3 per cent, SSI 2.9 per cent, BVH 2.1 per cent, VCB and MSN 1.6 per cent, BIC 1.1 per cent, and EIB and VCI 0.8 per cent.

In energy, PPC lost 3.4 per cent, PVD 3 per cent, PLX 2.5 per cent, GAS and PVT 1.7 per cent, NT2 1.4 per cent, and PGD 0.4 per cent.

In construction and real estate, ITA increased 2.1 per cent and ROS 0.5 per cent. QCG lost 6.8 per cent, DXG 4.9 per cent, VIC 3.1 per cent, HT1 2.8 per cent, KBC and REE 2.7 per cent, FLC 1.6 per cent, and NVL 0.5 per cent.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were HPG (VND17 billion ($739,130)), VCI (VND15.6 billion ($678,260)), PLX (VND10 billion ($434,782)), GAS (VND8.5 billion ($630,434)), and HSG (VND8.4 billion ($504,347)).

On HSX, VNM was the largest net sold share, with VND59.6 billion ($630,434), followed by BVH (VND9.3 billion ($521,739)), FIT (VND9.1 billion ($369,565)), CII (VND8 billion ($369,565)), and VIC (VND7.8 billion ($339,130)).

PVS was the largest net sold share on HNX, with VND11.8 billion ($513,043), followed by APS (VND998.1 million ($43,395)), SHS (VND846.4 million ($36,800)), TAG (VND669.3 million ($29,100)), and CVT (VND501.8 million ($21,817)).

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 124,738 shares worth VND6.43 billion ($279,565).

They net sold on HSX by VND17.08 billion ($742,608) and on HNX by VND6.15 billion ($267,391).
