All indexes close in positive territory

Good results all round on February 21, the first trading day after the Tet holiday.

All main indexes on Vietnam’s stock market gained ground on February 21 - the first trading day following the Tet holiday.
On HSX, the VN-Index closed at 1,087.15 points, up 27.42 points (2.59 per cent), while the VN30-Index reached 1,075.47 points, up 21.38 points (2.03 per cent).
On HNX, the HNX-Index closed at 125.85 points, up 1.54 points (1.24 per cent), while the HNX30-Index reached 244.02 points, up 2.4 points (0.99 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index increased 0.88 points (1.5 per cent) to close at 56.48 points.
Liquidity on HSX was VND5.726 trillion ($252 million) and VND917 billion ($40.4 million) on HNX.
STB, CTG, and HPG led in liquidity on HSX, with 16.3 million, 11.2 million, and 8.8 million shares, respectively, changing hands.
On HSX, 206 shares increased and 85 decreased, while 120 rose and 62 fell on HNX. 
The VN-Index opened at 1,059.73 points and ended the day at 1,087.15 points.
Most large banking shares increased: BID, VCB, and VPB by 5.6, 3.4, and 3.4 per cent, and STB, CTG, ACB, and MBB by 2.5, 2.4, 1.8, and 0.6 per cent. 
Most large food and beverages shares also performed well, with VNM, MSN, SAB, and BHN rising 5.0, 4.6, 3.0, and 3.0 per cent and KDC 0.5 per cent.
In energy, GAS and PLX increased 3.7 and 1.9 per cent while PVD, NT2, and PVS lost 3.7, 0.6, and 0.4 per cent.
Among other large caps, BVH hit its ceiling, PNJ, DHG, MWG, VJC, and FPT rose 3.4, 2.7, 2.5, 1.1, and 0.7 per cent, while HPG shed 1.0 per cent.
The Top 5 rising shares on HSX were DTT, LCM, BVH, GIL, and CII, and BTT, TMS, TNC, RIC, and KSA on HNX.
The Top 5 falling shares on HNX were CKV, POT, NBW, TPH, and VC7, and BBS, LCS, VTJ, ARM, and CTT on HSX.
Foreign investors net sold on HSX by VND48.3 billion ($2.13 million) and on HNX by VND29.51 billion ($1.3 million).
