The VN30-Index was the only loser.

The VN-Index ended on August 2 with the HSX at 953.55 points, up 0.78 points (0.08 per cent), while the VN30-Index closed at 943.49 points, down 0.89 points (0.09 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index closed at 105.65 points, up 0.09 points (0.0.9 per cent), the HNX30-Index closed at 189.68 points, up 0.65 points (0.34 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index closed at 50.18 points, down 0.12 points (0.23 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX was VND3.7 trillion ($146.1 million) and HNX was VND534.7 billion ($22.9 million).

Food and beverage stocks that gained ground included BHN, VCF, BBC, KDC and TAC which increased by 4.9, 3.3, 1.3, 0.6 and 0.1 per cent, respectively. TLG lost 2.7 per cent, VNM 1.1 per cent and SAB 0.5 per cent.

Gainers in banking included TCB, SSI, and VCB, which increased by 3.4, 1.2 and 0.7 per cent, respectively. STB lost 2.2 per cent, BVH 1.3 per cent, TPB 1.2 per cent, CTG 1.1 per cent, VPB 0.9 per cent, MBB 0.6 per cent, and BID 0. 4 per cent. EIB and MSN closed with their opening prices.

In energy, GAS gained 2.6 per cent, PVD 1.1 per cent, PLX 0.7 per cent, respectively, as PVT lost 1.5  per cent, PPC 0.5 per cent, PGD 0.3 per cent and NT2 0.2 per cent. 

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were VCB, HPG, CTD, GAS and HCM.

VNM was the largest net sold share on HSX, followed by DXG, VIC, GEX, and PVD.

PVS was the largest net sold share on HNX, followed by SFN, CAP, PGS, and ATS.

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 364,020 shares worth VND5.54 billion ($238,082).

They net sold on HSX by VND151.02 billion ($6.5 million) and on HNX by VND4.98 billion ($214,016).
