HNX and HNX30-Index the only gainers.

Most indexes on Vietnam’s stock market lost ground on April 3.

On HSX, the VN-Index closed at 1,188.29 points, down 8.32 points (0.70 per cent), and the VN30-Index 1,160.97 points, down 10.24 points (0.87 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index finished at 135.62 points, up 0.22 points (0.17 per cent), while the HNX30-Index closed at 259.32 points, up 1.7 points (0.66 per cent). The UPCoM-Index finished the day at 60.45 points, down 0.46 points (0.76 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX was VND6.6 trillion ($289.3 million) and VND921.2 billion ($40.4 million) on HNX.

Most large food and beverages shares lost ground, with TAC, VNM, BBC, KDC and TLG falling 5, 3, 2.8, 1.6 and 0.4 per cent, while DQG gained 0.6 per cent and VCF closed at its opening price.

Some large banking shares gained: EIB, BVH, SSI, MBB, VCI, VPB, VCB, BID and CTG by 4.3, 3.5, 3.4, 2.5, 1.3, 0.4, 0.4, 0.4, and 0.2 per cent, while MSN lost 1.4 per cent and STB 0.6 per cent.

In energy, PVT gained 2.9 per cent while PGD lost 3.2 per cent, PVD 2.4 per cent, GAS 2.3 per cent, PLX 2.2 per cent, and PPC 2.1 per cent. NT2 closed at its opening price.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were NVL (VND45.4 billion ($1.99 million)), HBC (VND16.7 billion ($732,045)), DHG (VND13.2 billion ($578,620)), HDB (VND8.1 billion ($355,065)), and PVD (VND7.4 billion ($324,380)).

On HSX, VNM was the largest net sold share, with VND92 billion ($4 million), followed by GAS (VND45.5 billion ($2 million)), VJC (VND30.7 billion ($1.3 million)), PLX (VND20.4 billion ($894,235)), and CVT (VND19.8 billion ($867,935)).

VGC was the largest net sold share on HNX, with VND27.5 billion ($1.2 million), followed by NDN (VND3.1 billion ($135,890)), SPI (VND2 billion ($87,670)), HUT (VND1.8 billion ($78,900)), and CEO (VND1.7 billion ($74,520).

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 26,342 shares worth VND7.45 billion ($326,570).

They net sold on HSX by VND339.56 billion ($14.9 million) and on HNX by VND30.51 billion ($1.3 million).
