Only UPCoM loses ground

All other main indexes close higher on November 8.

Vietnam’s stock market had a positive day on November 8.

On HSX, the VN-Index closed up 9.37 points (1.10 per cent) and the VN30-Index 7.54 points (0.89 per cent).
On HNX, the HNX-Index rose 0.91 points (0.87 per cent) and the HNX30-Index 1.96 points (1 per cent). The UPCoM-Index lost 0.22 points (0.42 per cent).

The afternoon session was positive, with a series of large caps such as VNM, VIC, GAS, FPT, MWG and especially BID, CTG, VCB, MBB increasing strongly.

However, the market is quite fragmented and increases were inconsistent. The number of falling shares totaled 262, while those rising totaled 324.

Liquidity on HSX was VND3.92 trillion ($172.59 million) and on HNX was VND451.5 billion ($19.8 million).
On HSX, there were 144 shares increasing and 125 decreasing, while 97 increased and 78 fell on HNX. 
Most large banking shares closed higher, except for EIB. BID gained 4.2 per cent, VCB 2.7 per cent, MBB 2.4 per cent, CTG 2.1 per cent, and VPB 1.8 per cent, while STB remained unchanged.
In food and beverages, VNM increased 1.5 per cent while SAB lost 1.3 per cent and MSN remained unchanged.
In energy, GAS increased 2.5 per cent and PLX 1.6 per cent. NT2 shed 0.7 per cent, PVD 0.6 per cent, and PPC 0.5 per cent.
In real estate and construction, VIC gained 5.6 per cent and CTD 0.1 per cent while ROS lost 6.8 per cent and NVL 0.3 per cent. HBC closed at its opening price.

The Top 5 rising shares on HSX were PME, DQC, TNT, BHN, and HAS, and on HNX were S74, ATS, C92, V12, and PCE.

The Top 5 falling shares on HSX were HTT, CTF, APG, KPF, and PNC, and HJS, PDC, PSI, PSW, and SJ1 on HNX.
Foreign investors net bought on HSX by VND16.05 billion ($706,698) and on HNX by VND30.14 billion ($1.3 million).
